From Boardroom to Front Line: Trustco Group Puts AI to Work
Windhoek, 28 and 29 October 2026 – The question is no longer whether AI will change the way we work, but how fast. Trustco Group’s Board of Directors took part in a two-day Artificial Intelligence Training Workshop at its headquarters in Windhoek, Namibia, as part of its annual strategic board training. The Board joined executives, senior management and employees from across the group’s portfolio companies and subsidiaries on the hands-on workshop to explore how AI can support everyday work and decision-making.
AI tools that can research, draft, analyze and automate are now within reach of every organization. For a diversified group such as Trustco, the opportunity lies in helping people across very different businesses work faster and more efficiently and make better-informed decisions, while keeping client and company information secure. Equipping its people at every level to use new technology well is central to how the group intends to keep creating value for its stakeholders.

Trustco Group Deputy CEO, Mr. QZ van Rooyen, said, “Our Board oversees the risks and opportunities that come with every new technology, and AI is no exception. Understanding these tools first-hand puts our directors in a far better position to guide how AI is used across the group, safely, responsibly and to the benefit of our clients and stakeholders.”
The presenters from Keystone Growth Capital – Herman Botha, Senior Manager and former consulting project and data management specialist, and Hanco Marais, an economist – led the practical AI sessions with live demonstrations covering research, drafting, administration, spreadsheets and dashboards, with a focus on responsible use and saving time through automation.
The workshop builds on a foundation the Trustco group laid in 2025, when it first introduced AI training for its Board and employees. Clear internal guidelines govern how AI tools may be used with company information, and staff complete AI training and assessments each year.
AI is changing how work gets done. Trustco intends to lead that change, not follow it.
